About the Artist
I was born in the wooded country of South Western Pennsylvania. I grew up and went to school about twenty miles east of Pittsburgh, where I attended Duquesne University. It was from this place I traveled west to, eventually, Eugene , Oregon. It is here I settled for a season or so. It was here I picked up an old leather craft skill I had and put it to use with an inherent art ability and began to artfully craft original designs on various belts, guitar straps and purses. I survived that period just fine, but continued afterwards to create and design even larger pieces.I have moved and have lived outside of Jacksonville, in Ruch, for the last thirty years or so.I have often maintained residence in Pennsylvania over these years, too. It is this collection that I know begin to offer in signed, limited edition prints. Each original is an engraved piece of leather, hand tooled and painted and numbered and signed.

The themes of my pieces come from a chilhood that had great exposure to nature and a strong Irish Catholic upbringing and training that exposed me to symbols and icons that my life seemed to exist upon. Over the course of my life I have gravitated to an interest of that aspect of the core of mankind. I wanted to understand these images and, eventually, diagram them into a piece that is rich with the essential and basic symbols and relationships of man of all kind. These are images and stories that are an attempt to set up a vision of forms that are arranged in such a way that they blend together and create a uniform pattern and image. At the same time the elements within are general in conflict with one another. Such is life. Enjoy the beauty of turmoil.
